WHOLE COMMUNITY CATECHESIS

Whole Community Catechesis is an approach to total parish religious education - adult education and religious education (grades 1-12) by which youth and adults as well as children participate in faith formation gatherings throughout the year. During Whole Community Catechesis gatherings all generations (children, teens, young adults, single adults, parents, grandparents seniors) gather together to deepen their relationship with Jesus.

Each gathering includes the following:

1. An opening all-ages experience (an introduction to the topic using prayer, film, story, activities, etc.)

2. An In-Depth Learning experience which may either be age-specific (all ages learn about the same topic in age appropriate groups) or intergenerational (all present remain together)

3. Sharing of Learning Experiences.

4. Home Kits - Materials related to the subject of the evening to allow learning to continue in each household.
