San Rafael Catholic Church
|
| Welcome to San Rafael Parish! | | San Rafael Catholic Church is a welcoming church. Come and enjoy the beauty of the church itself with the many stained glass windows which trace salvation history and the events in the life of Christ, the Bible and the saints.
You will find many educational, fellowship and community service opportunities. We invite you to participate.
On this website you will find listed the schedule of Masses, other parish liturgies, ministries, groups, and organizations in which you may become involved.

DURING THE UPCOMING CHURCH RENOVATION the church will be closed for the month of June. The parish hall will be used for all liturgical purposes during this time. We understand that it might be a bit uncomfortable and some might decide to attend Mass at another church during the work. If you do, please don’t forget us. Our weekly operating budget is sustained by our weekly offering and we depend on everyone’s continued financial support.

SAD, SAD NEWS: After many years of dedicated and loyal service to San Rafael Parish Sr. Laura Abat, Director of our children’s Religious Education Program, and Sr. Michele McQueeney, Director of our Adult Education, have announced that this will be their last year at San Rafael Parish. They will be returning to Hawaii to take on other ministry. Sr. Laura is originally from Lahaina, Maui, and Sr. Michele ministered in Hawaii for more than two decades before coming to San Diego. We will certainly miss these two wonderful sisters who have given so much of themselves for the good and benefit of our parish. They are both remarkable disciples of Jesus who have showered their love on us in so many ways. We wish Sr. Laura and Sr. Michele well in their future endeavors and promise them our loving support. They will be leaving us sometime in the Fall. In the meantime, in response to this announcement on the diocesan website, we have received several applications for the position of Director of Catechetical Ministry and the new DCM will be announced soon.
